“Old Love” Is Up! Watch it now! No, NOW!
June 5, 2009 at 6:38 am | Posted in Keith Boynton | 23 CommentsTags: debut, premiere, revelation, unveiling
Our very first film is up and running, and eager for your approval. I swear it’s like watching a baby take its first steps …*
There are still a few little glitches that bug me – chiefly, the peaking audio in the first scene, which appears only in the export, for reasons that completely elude me. (If anyone has any theories, let me know.) But we promised you a movie by Friday morning, and doggone it, that’s what you get!
Please inundate us with feedback of all kinds – good, bad, and ugly. This film is a lot longer than most of our 12in12 entries will be, but we think it’s worth the ten minutes you’ll invest in it. Hope you enjoy!

Postscript by Mike: Hmm. The film does not appear to be coming through in HD on Vimeo. Yet another hurdle to iron out. Do you iron out hurdles? We sure do! An HD version is in the future.
Second Postscript: HD problem appears to be fixed. Enjoy!

I LOVE this. So sweet. So well-acted and well-directed. Obviously I love the actor, so my praise is biased, but I love the actress. Really well done. I am impressed excited for more.

This was lovely! The acting was very sweet and genuine and I held my breath at the ending, and was of course half disappointed and half knowing that it made sense. Can’t wait for the next one.

Love it. Touching, funny and crisp.

Very serious Kieth! (besides for the baby face fucking. I recognize that:). Impressive. Real indie-emo love story where nobody cums and nobody’s happy but we’re left with the thick tasty paste of love unspoken-ish. I dig the range. Well done.

I am blown away by what you’ve accomplished guys. Nothing about this seems amateur. The shots, lighting, acting, editing, music, and writing were all done very tastefully. My only critiques are that around 1:50 Mike seems unnaturally red, and I’ve heard the “if you have sex with a pregnant girl you’ll punch the baby in the face with your penis” joke a hundred times. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to next week’s entry!

Well done! The shots, the characters, all well conceived. I think the opening scene could be a little tighter, either dialogue-wise or editing, but it’s fairly minor, and all came together well at the end.
And second on the baby in the face joke, but it was still a funny scene.

Keith,
Great work! The characters, the dilemma and the script are all really engaging.

Thanks, Bruce! I can’t take any credit for the script, because Mike wrote it, but … oh, what the heck, I’ll take the credit anyway!
