Waiting for Chaos

I’m sitting in my sublet on West 80th St. In two hours, the crew will arrive, and this little apartment will become hot, and cramped, and bustling. Right now, it’s peaceful and quiet. It’s a great good fortune to be able to spend the night before the shoot “on-location.” Time to center myself, to gather my thoughts, to go over the shot list once again. Pretty much as soon as we finish shooting, I’ll be moving out of this place, so the shoot has a nice little resonance to it; it’s a fond farewell to a very temporary (for me, anyway) residence. The script was written expressly to showcase this quirky, hemmed-in, lived-in space. I hope we can do it justice.
Onward.
