“Sublet” is up! WATCH IT NOW!!! (Er, please.)

Week Three is done, and the movie is up! On Saturday, we’ll be shooting “After Perfect.” And on it rolls …
If you’ve seen the behind-the-scenes footage from the “Sublet” shoot, you know how hilariously cramped conditions were. What the footage doesn’t capture is how hot it was, or how punchy we got as the shoot dragged on, or how bad I felt about keeping people more than 5 hours past the projected wrap time. It wasn’t a disastrous shoot by any means (praise be to all that’s holy), but it was a grueling one, and I was inexpressibly grateful to have such a dedicated cast and crew to work with. As Mike pointed out, one prima donna could have derailed us completely.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked on “Sublet.” I promise never, ever to work you that hard again, certainly not before next week.
And to those of you who didn’t work on the movie: enjoy it! You lucky, lucky bastards.

I loved it. By the way, keep that jogger stuff up and it’ll be a great thread for the inevitable DVD compilation!

Kate: THANK YOU! Hope your knee’s healing up.
Tim: I don’t know what you mean. There is no jogger. The jogger is a myth. Please stop spreading these hateful lies.

I really enjoyed Sublet. The story was sweet and unique. The dialogue charming, and the apartment visually complimented the story so perfectly. Kudos, and the acting was pretty cool too.

Great work!! So charming. The apartment becomes a quirky, lovable character, and you feel like you’re right there experiencing it (though of course one more body and no one would have come out alive…)

The kiss makes it. And leaving space for the actors. Not overwriting helped the charm of the place and the people come through. Thanks for the beauty in the quirkiness.

My favorite of the 3 so far! I agree with previous posters that the cramped apartment really compliments the narrative. I look forward to future installments of the project.

Very lovely. The man cooking in the last moments I think ties the whole thing together beautifully. Well done!

This is by far my favorite film in addition to Queen Bee of Mushroomtown. While the apt was an amazing location, I especially loved the natural dialogue and the last shot of the CG effect. Make more shorts like this! Charming, artsy, and natural dialogue.
