A Very Belated Announcement of a Very Hurried Film

We’ve been so focused on fixing and polishing “Captivated” (formerly “The Improv Movie”) for the last week that we have criminally neglected pre-production for Film #6.  But we’re on it!  This will be a Sunday shoot rather than the usual Saturday, both to avoid conflicts with festivities (apparently today’s some kind of holiday?) and to give ourselves an extra day to prepare.  But the film will be up on Friday as usual, because we just love you that much.

As for what the film will be: it gives me great pleasure to announce that we will be shooting “Script 2″ by Rick Lattimer (previously mentioned in Mike’s recent blog entry).  Rick’s a friend of James Fauvell’s (whom some of you know from “The Queen Bee of Mushroomtown” and “Sublet”); he heard about this project and sent along a couple of scripts for us.  The first (“Script 1″) was bizarre, disturbing, and a little beyond our budgetary limits; Script 2 was equally bizarre, but shorter, punchier, and more logistically manageable.  This marks the first time in 12in12 that we’re using a script not written by Mike or me, and it’s exciting to bring a new writer into the fold.  I’ve never met Rick Lattimer, but I like the way his crazy mind works, and I hope I can do justice to his peculiar vision.

Sorry, ladies, he's taken. But the goatee is single.

In the cast, we have (appropriately enough) James Fauvell, as well as Jeff Pucillo, who played a creepy killer in my movie The Now a few years back.  In the director’s chair, we have me again, because I am a greedy bastard, and also the easiest option available.  I’m delighted to be working with both of these talented actors again, and I’m pleased to be able to introduce Jeff to 12in12, a project he’s been enthusiastic about since its inception.

I think Jeff looks a little like Daniel Day-Lewis, don't you?

And, rounding out the cast, we have my little sister, Darcy Boynton, in the role of “woman in lingerie.”  Um, actually, we might have to re-think the lingerie …

It's okay; I accept it. My little sister is hot.

It’s been a wild week here at 12in12, but our one-week break is just around the corner.  Till then, we’ll keep providing you with quality filmed entertainment, every Friday, delivered straight to your living room!  Or your bathroom.  Wherever you get wireless, really.
