Our sixth 12in12 film, Rick Lattimer’s “Script 2,” is up and running! This film marks the first time I’ve ever felt like a director-for-hire – in the sense that I had no hand whatsoever in developing the script. Heck, I’ve never even met Rick Lattimer. But I really hope he likes the movie. Me, I’m still not sure I understand it, but I find myself loving it more and more. Hope you feel the same!
This film marks the official halfway point of the 12in12 project. The last six weeks have been a complete whirlwind, and neither Mike nor I has any memory of them. We dimly recall having a wonderful time shooting a few movies, and a somewhat less wonderful time editing them. We have the vague sense of having worked with a couple dozen amazing people, who helped us and challenged us and made things fun. And I’m pretty sure there was a cucumber in there somewhere.
Beyond that, it’s all a blur. But no matter! The important thing is, we have one week to prep the next six movies, and we haven’t even decided what they are yet! The adventure continues …
We’re taking our scheduled week off as far as posting films, but we’ll continue to update the blog with pre-production tales, announcements of upcoming films, “film jargon” postings, reflections on the process so far, etc. Plus, we have a major announcement coming up in the next couple of days. So keep on checking! We’ll try and keep you entertained until the madness begins again.
Also, this seems like a good moment to say thank you to all of you who’ve been keeping up with the blog, watching the films, and/or giving us feedback. We really appreciate all your time and attention, and we’ll keep doing our best to reward it. It’s been a wild and sometimes painful ride, and it ain’t over yet, but you guys make it all worthwhile.
In the words of The Man himself: Excelsior!
