Why 12?

I am often asked why the number of films we’re doing is twelve. It all goes back to our first meeting at the Root Hill Cafe. I had made three short films in my entire life, and while I thought that a summer of movie making sounded like fun, I certainly didn’t want to go overboard. I proposed a schedule of eight. Keith sat in thought for a second and said these words which sealed our fate:
Eight isn’t enough, and if we’re going to do ten, we may as well do twelve.
And at the time that made perfect sense. It was like that scene from Ocean’s Eleven. Except instead of one more, Keith thought we needed four more.
I guess we needed four more.
Filming #10 today. Two more to go!
So, thank you, Keith. Without you, I’d probably be on vacation in some tropical paradise, surrounded by hot babes and a raft of piña coladas, far from the oppressive NYC sun and the putrescent odors it extracts from these filthy streets.
Oh wait, did I say “thank you”?? Sorry – I meant “screw you”!
That was a close one.
